‘The Founders’, as it is affectionately known in Hamilton, opened on 4 March 1961 and was hailed at the time as one of the finest theatres in New Zealand.  Situated on a two hectare reserve adjacent to cricket’s Seddon Park and close to Waikato Stadium, the Founders Theatre and its 1,249 seat auditorium is the mecca for large-scale indoor entertainment in the city.

One of the finest 550-seat drama theatres in New Zealand, Clarence St Theatre is ideally suited to drama, dance and smaller concerts with a seated capacity of about 400 on its first level and an additional 150 in the Dress Circle.  The first level can be dressed in ‘showroom’ mode with table seating, making it ideal for conferences and other corporate functions., and first level seating can also be entirely removed for ‘standing only’ concerts.

Recently upgraded, The Meteor is a unique black box venue seating up to 250 people, and can be configured in a many different ways to accommodate concerts, plays, corporate, social and exhibition events.
