Theatre Information for Patrons
Mobile Phones/Photography
Mobile phones, etc must be switched off before entering the auditoriums as these can interfere with communication systems and can disturb other patrons. The use of cameras or videos is not permitted as this may infringe copyright as well as inconveniencing other patrons.
Announcements and Lockouts
Announcements may commence prior to performances at Founders Theatre and the Clarence St Theatre. You are advised to take your seats immediately as many shows operate a lock-out policy which can sometimes last the whole of the first act.
Theatre Policy
Children and those in need of special care are the responsibility of their parents, guardians, teachers or carers. Hamilton City Theatres reserves the right to ask anyone causing a disturbance to performers, other patrons or staff to leave the venue. There is a Duty Manager at all performances who will manage any issues.
Babies & Children
All children in the auditorium should be in possession of a ticket for a seat unless other arrangements have been made at the point of sale. We strongly advise that children under three are too young to attend the majority of our performances.
Pushchairs and baby carriers may not be admitted into the venues, however feeding and changing facilities are available. Please check with on-site staff.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to unaccompanied children under the age of 14.
Disabled Access/ Wheelchairs
All venues are accessible. There are a number of specific allocated disability spaces in the auditoria. Please advise the seller when buying your tickets. On arrival please see one of our on-site staff who will direct or assist you appropriately. Bathrooms are located on the ground floor foyers of all our venues.
At Founders Theatre and The Meteor there are specific blue painted disability parking spaces in the carpark.

Ticketek charges a service fee for the service that Ticketek provides as the ticketing agent, which is separate from the ticket price that is charged by the independent promoter. Services provided by Ticketek include, though are not limited to, postage, handling, tracing tickets, providing lost ticket passes should tickets be lost, stolen or destroyed, and updating customers of changes to event details.
As detailed above Tickets purchased via the telephone or internet will incur a service fee of up to $8.75 per transaction, that is, regardless of the number of tickets purchased. Tickets purchased at a Box Office or Ticketek outlet may incur a service fee of up to $2.00 per ticket or $6.00 per transaction.
Ticketek makes every effort to ensure that customers are aware of the service fees that we charge. When purchasing tickets via the telephone or at a Ticketek outlet customers are verbally informed that a service fee will apply. There is also written information at all Ticketek outlets outlining service fees. When purchasing tickets via the Ticketek website, it is stated at every stage of the purchase process that a service will apply. This is noted in the event and pricing Information screen, the ticket selection screen and the payment form confirming the details of your purchase.
Hearing Loop
Hearing loops are available at Founders Theatre and the Clarence St Theatre
Smoking
In accordance with the Smokefree Environments Act 2003, smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the theatre complex.
Pre Show Dining
At Founders Theatre Showtime! provides refreshments and a full bar service prior to the performance and during interval.
Dinner options are offered before most shows for a two course dinner menu are available and can be arranged by contacting Montana Catering on 839 3459
Please note that drinks are able to be taken into Founders Theatre auditorium providing they are in plastic glasses.
