Acclaimed cellist Li-Wei and the NZSO bring audience favourite Haydn’s Cello Concerto No.1 to life under the direction of NZSO’s Music Director Pietari Inkinen. It is a pillar of the cello repertoire where Haydn shows himself a master of instrumental writing. Pietari Inkinen also leads the orchestra through Mahler’s 5th Symphony. As the great conductor Herbert von Karajan said “a great performance of Mahler’s Fifth is a transformative experience.”
